In my work I am comfortable in an atmosphere of potential and ambiguous feelings and desires.
I am interested in how we transform and have come to regard the body a place for change as much as the space the body inhabits. In my
work social narratives form a cultural context, and architecture is an extension of the self. Spatial relationships in the subject, the
materials and with the viewer create the necessary tension for flux.
I am interested in sexuality as being at the core of self-determination and transformation and wish to observe it beyond commodification.
Childhood memories, the natural personas of children, ironic circumstances and social patterns are visual sources. In my work the figure and
architectural forms draw us into a terrain of ongoing undercurrents that govern our lives.
I see the environment as interchangeable with what occupies it. The two define each other. I have been integrating applied material;
wood, plastics, metal, etc. into the composition, adding another depth to the image and putting the painting into the viewer's space. The
irascible found material acknowledges decay and reconciles my images of timelessness with the physical world. This contradiction makes
room for unresolved or conflicting circumstances.
Painting is a forum for contemplation and inner debate.
